Every Christmas season I try to watch old holiday favorite movies.One film that I watch during the holidays is one that many may not consider traditional holiday fare. I include On Her Majesty's Secret Service on my Christmas film list.
The James Bond thriller lacks Sean Connery as Bond, but stand-in George Lazenby is fine, considering that he never acted before. Diana Rigg is superb and the film is one of the best in the James Bond series, in my view.
I consider On Her Majesty's Secret Service a holiday film because the film takes place during the Christmas season, the setting is snow-bound Switzerland and there is a touching love story.
The film also features John Barry's great film score that includes a song sung by the late, great Louie Armstrong.
