Purple Heart Awarded To Window And Children of U.S. Navy Petty Officer Murdered In Terrorist Attack At Navy Base In Chattanooga, Tenn.


FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. (Jan. 14, 2016) Capt. Matt Berta, left, commander of Navy Region South East Reserve Component Command, stands next to Vice Adm. Robin Braun, Chief of Navy Reserve, as she presents a Purple Heart shadow box to Angie Smith, the widow of Logistics Specialist 2nd Class Randall Smith, and her three daughters. 

Smith sustained fatal gunshot wounds during the terrorist shootings July 16, 2015 at the Navy Operational Support Center in Chattanooga, Tenn.
