  1. It is among my favorite TV memories. I and my parents were addicted watchers. I'll never get the musical theme out of my head!

    1. But, Paul, I claim a slight advantage (?): I'm so old that I remember it from the beginning when I was in grade school! But I also remember Molly Goldberg, I Remember Mama, Sid Caesar, Milton Berle, and a few other relics.

  3. RT,

    You got me there.

I was born in 1952, but I saw reruns of the old Dragnet. I now have a DVD of Dragnet.

I also recall the other shows you mentioned. Perhaps I saw them as a small child, but I've seen most of them on DVD or in reruns over the years.

(Ernie Kovacs is a favorite of mine).

  4. I also recall the TV version of "Amos 'n Andy," which a local TV station -- going against the politically correct pressures and good sense -- was running until about half-a-dozen years ago; they station finally succumbed to pressure, and the Kingfish don't run no mo' on TV 'round here.
