FBI Director Wray's Remarks At Press Briefing At Butler, Pennsylvania On The Assassination Attempt On Trump

The FBI released FBI Director Christopher Wray's remarks at the scene of the attempted assassination of Former President Trump:

What we witnessed yesterday was nothing short of an attack on democracy and our democratic process.

An attempt to assassinate a presidential candidate can only be described as absolutely despicable and will not be tolerated in this country.  

I want to start by offering my deepest condolences to all the victims of yesterday’s shooting and their families.

Our hearts go out to the family of the individual who was killed, the two others who were critically wounded, and, of course, former President Trump and his family.

I want to make sure they know—and the American people know—that the men and women of the FBI are working tirelessly to get to the bottom of what happened.

The shooter may be deceased, but the investigation is very much ongoing. And, because of that, we are limited in what we say at this point.

But what I can say is that we have committed the full force of the FBI to this investigation:

• Both criminal and national security resources
• Tactical support
• Evidence response teams to help process the crime scene
• Victim services specialists
• The FBI Lab and our Operational Technology Division to process the physical evidence recovered

We also continue to operate our FBI Tip Line and encourage anyone with information to reach out to us as soon as possible.

Both in our FBI field office in Pittsburgh and in our command post at FBI Headquarters, we continue to work closely with our federal, state, and local partners, as we did throughout the night last night to ensure there was no ongoing threat to former President Trump or to the people of Pennsylvania.

The American people can rest assured that we will leave no stone unturned as we work to get to the bottom of what happened yesterday.

FBI Director's Remarks To Business Leaders In London

The FBI Director addressed business leaders in London about the common threats the US and the UK face, such as the threat from Communist China.

It’s an honor to be here this week, talking about common threats our nations face, and the superb cooperation between our two agencies

The FBI has no closer partner than MI5. We work together on almost every mission our agencies confront—from countering terrorism to cybertheft and transnational repression to espionage.

Now, you’ll notice that there’s a common thread running through all the challenges we tackle together, which is that they’re all hard.

Our world is certainly filled with enduring, difficult challenges. Not least, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and their ruthless killing of civilians and destruction of homes and infrastructure.

As laser-focused as both our agencies are on the Russia threat, though, I want to talk today about another complex, enduring, and pervasive danger to the kinds of innovative businesses we have here in the audience.

We consistently see that it’s the Chinese government that poses the biggest long-term threat to our economic and national security, and by “our,” I mean both of our nations, along with our allies in Europe and elsewhere.

And I want to be clear that it’s the Chinese government and the Chinese Communist Party that pose the threat we’re focused on countering. Not the Chinese people, and certainly not Chinese immigrants in our countries—who are themselves frequently victims of the Chinese government’s lawless aggression.

FBI Director Says Violence Directed At Police Officers Unlike Anything He's Seen Before: 73 Police Officers Murdered In 2021

Fox News reports on the FBI director's 's comments regarding the war on cops.

FBI Director Christpher Wray addressed the skyrocketing rate of murders against police officers Sunday, saying the surge is far outpacing general violent crime.

Wray made the comments during a "60 Minutes" interview on Sunday, saying murders of police officers rose 59% in 2021. The total murder rate rose 29% last year, and the U.S. lost 73 police officers to such attacks in 2021.

"Violence against law enforcement in this country is one of the biggest phenomena that I think doesn't get enough attention," Wray said, adding that officers are being murdered at a rate of nearly "one every five days."
