Military Leaders Demand Apology For NBC Correspondent’s Claim That "American Sniper" Chris Kyle Was Racist Killer

Jessica Chasman at the Washington Times reports on the retired military leaders who are demading an apology from an NBC reporter (not a columnist or a commentator, but a so-called objective reporter) who made rash and insulting statements about the late Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.

More than 20 retired generals and admirals, along with dozens of other retired military officers, have reportedly joined the Media Research Center in writing a letter demanding an apology from NBC’s parent company Comcast after a news correspondent claimed on-air that slain Navy SEAL Chris Kyle engaged in “killing sprees.”

“[Kyle] is a hero, not a talking point for a smug journalist,” the group wrote in a letter, signed by more than 60 retired military leaders, to the Comcast Board of Directors being delivered Tuesday, the Washington Examiner reported.

The letter comes after Middle East reporter Ayman Mohyeldin said during a Jan. 29 segment of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that critics have described Kyle as having “racist tendencies towards Iraqis and Muslims when he was going on some of these, you know, killing sprees in Iraq on assignment.”

In their letter, the brass and veterans demanded an on-air apology: “Mohyeldin’s statements were an inexcusable slap in the face to the widow of Chris Kyle and to all those in the armed forces who continue to serve our country in harm’s way. Such rants do not add anything to a thoughtful discussion of public policy regarding Iraq.”

The group said they turned to Comcast only after being repeatedly denied an apology by NBC News.

"Chopper Whopper" Is Serial Liar Brian Williams' Tallest Tale

Kyle Smith at the New York Post takes aim at serial liar Brian Williams' biggest lie.

Brian Williams did it all for the soldiers, you see. His chopper whoppers were patriotic acts. “This was a bungled attempt by me to thank one special veteran,” he explained.

In a similar vein, ­Anthony Weiner’s sext­ing was really just a misunderstood celebration of the technological sophistication of smartphones, and Bill Clinton’s dalliance with Monica Lewinsky was a selfless way to promote that great American company the Gap.

What Williams’ lie was about was what lies are always about: No one who actually scored the winning touchdown on the high-school football team misremembers it as sitting on the bench. The term “fish tale” does not mean you mistakenly tell people you caught a sickly ­8-ounce catfish when actually you snagged a 95-pound monster marlin.

Williams or­iginally told the truth about what happened in 2003 Iraq: He was on a Chinook helicopter. Another helicopter was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG). His helo was nowhere near the one that was struck and landed some 30 or more minutes later. That isn’t a near-miss; that’s just rubbernecking at something you didn’t even know happened until you came along later.

Joseph Miller, who says he was the flight engineer on Williams’ helo, said Williams was excited from the beginning, immediately spinning a what-if story: “He had the audacity to tell me the whole thing was like ‘Saving Private Ryan’ and that the whole Army would be out looking for him,” Miller said, adding, “I called him an idiot in front of his camera crew.”

Hey, NBC, do your job for a change: Let’s see that footage. It’ll be the newsiest stuff you run all week.

Jay Leno On Congress Exempting Themselves From Obamacare

Jay Leno on the Tonight Show made a joke of the idea that Congress exempted themeselves from Obamacare.

Before they went on vacation, Congress voted to exempt themselves from Obamacare.

They gave themselves a special exemption because they thought it was too expensive.

So the people who voted for Obamacare for us voted to exempt themselves from it.

You know how doctors take the Hippocratic Oath. Congress apparently takes the "Hypocritic Oath."
