I recently read Cooler Than Cool: The Life and Work of Elmore Leonard by C.M. Kushins.
I enjoyed the biography of the late, great crime writer, as I consider myself to be an Elmore Leonard aficionado. I love Elmore Leonard’s fine crime novels.
I met Elmore Leonard briefly in 2009 when he came to Philadelphia to promote his latest novel. He struck me as having the cool insouciance of an elderly jazz musician.
I later wrote about his visit in my Philadelphia Weekly Crime Beat column.
