A Little Humor: An Italian Thing

A friend of mine who lives in the Italian Market area of South Philadelphia told me that he received a strange call from some medigan place.

To American Italians, medigan is a derogatory term for non-Italians.

“What medigan place?” I asked, assuming he was telling me because I was half-Italian and thus would know about medigan places.

“I don’t know,” he replied. “I picked up the phone, and someone said it was the Mayo Clinic calling.

"I said no thanks. I’m Italian.”

Note: Medigans may not get this joke.
