'Lone Survivor' Is A Suberb Portrayal Of The Sacrifice, Ability And Bravery of the U.S. Navy SEALs

I don't often go to the theater to see films, as I dislike crowds and the distractions of rude film viewers. I much prefer to wait a year or so and watch films on cable TV in the privacy of my home.

But yesterday I went to an early viewing of Lone Survivor with my stepson.

I thought that director Peter Berg, actor and producer Mark Wahlberg, and the rest of the cast and crew did a fine job of bringing Marcus Luttrell's true story of Navy SEALs in combat in Afghanistan to the big screen.

You can read my review of Marcus Luttrell's book, which appeared in Counterterrorism magazine, via the below link:

A Look Back At Former Navy SEAL Marcus Lantrell's 'Lone Survivor'

In light of Peter Berg's Navy SEALs film Lone Survivor coming soon to the big screen, I'd like to offer my Counterterrorism magazine piece on former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell.

Peter Berg based his film on Marcus Luttrell's book.

I also wrote about the U.S. SEAL-UDT Museum in a sidebar to the Luttrell piece.

First 'Lone Survivor' Trailor Shows Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch On Navy SEAL Mission Gone Wrong

Rebecca Ford at the Hollywood Reporter offers a piece on the upcoming film Lone Survivor, which is based on the true story of a U.S. Navy SEAL mission in Afghanistan.

The first trailer for Peter Berg's Lone Survivor has debuted, showing off a strong brotherhood among soldiers, some breathtaking landscape and a lot of manly beards.

The action drama, written and directed by Berg, stars Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch, Eric Bana, Emile Hirsch and Ben Foster as a group of Navy SEALs that attempts to capture or kill a notorious Taliban leader. The film is based on the book Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10 by Marcus Luttrell.

The vicious and cruel killers of former U.S. Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell's dog were found guilty.
