Happy Anniversary, Mr Bond: Celebrating The 60th Anniversary Of Ian Fleming's First James Bond Novel, 'Casino Royale'

Bob Myer at WUIS.org speaks to Dr Michael L. VanBlaricum about the celebration at the University of Illinois of the 60th anniversary of the publication of Casino Royale, Ian Fleming's first James Bond novel.

This weekend, Ian Fleming’s James Bond comes to the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.  Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the publication of Fleming’s first novel, “Casino Royale”, a number of events kick off a series of exhibits of Bond memorabilia and research material – including the books, films, and music surrounding Agent 007.

WUIS’ Bob Meyer talks with Dr. Michael L. VanBlaricum, President of the Ian Fleming Foundation, about Fleming, Bond, and the exhibitions opening Friday at the Spurlock Museum, the Sousa Archives and Center for American Music, and the Rare Book and Manuscript Library at the U of I:

Note: It is the 60th anniversary, not the 80th, as WUIS wrote in their introduction.
