A Look At One Of The U.S. Navy's Largest Ships Alongside One Of The Smallest


I came across the above interesting photo of a 100-foot U.S. Navy harbor tugboat alongside an aircraft carrier, one of the largest warships in the Navy.

I found the photo interesting as it reminded me of my time in the U.S. Navy in the early 1970s.

As a young sailor I served two years on an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War, and I later spent two years on a Navy harbor tugboat at the nuclear submarine base at Holy Loch, Scotland.

Below are photos of the USS Saugus, YTB 780, the USS Kitty Hawk, CVA 63, the Holy Loch submarine base, and one of me as a young sailor:
